Dr. Guo Yongchao Was Invited to Give the Lecture "Application Progress and Case Sharing of Genetic Testing in Newborn Genetic Disease Screening"

In order to promote the prevention and control of birth defects in clinical newborns and implement the national strategy of "Healthy China 2030", on July 15, 2023, the People's Hospital of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province initiated the "2023 Special Meeting on the Prevention and Control of Neonatal Genetic Diseases", which aims to gather clinical experts and scholars in obstetrics and gynecology and neonatology, and build a communication platform with technical progress introduction and clinical case analysis as the core.

Uni-medica is the only sequencing company invited to give a keynote speech at this training meeting. Dr. Guo Yongchao, chief scientist and chairman of the company, brought a wonderful report entitled "Genetic Testing in the Screening of Newborn Genetic Diseases Application Progress and Case Sharing", introducing gene sequencing technology and its application progress in newborn screening, technical advantages and limitations.

Highlights of this meeting: The training meeting focused on the technical development and diagnosis and treatment experience of neonatal disease screening, from the detailed introduction of national policies and detection technology to the analysis of classic cases, screening and diagnosis experience summary, etc..  Experts and scholars from inside and outside the province enthusiastically participated. This meeting provided a rare opportunity to bring more ideas and experience sharing for the development of neonatal disease screening in Banna Prefecture, and was warmly praised by experts in the state.
